Episode CCL: drones & manifestos

We discussed the manifesto of Luigi the assassin. They expressed skepticism about the authenticity of the manifesto and the circumstances surrounding the arrest of the suspect. Chris and Angel suggested that the situation might be a setup or a plant, while Jay raised the possibility of an MK Ultra operation. They also discussed the inconsistencies in the photographs released by the authorities. The group concluded that the majority of the Twitter sphere supports the individual and that the situation is not adding up.
Pardons, Corruption, and Cares Act

Episode CCXLIX: the gentle moderate rebels & the Hit.

Assassination of Healthcare Executive Discussed

We discussed the recent assassination of a top healthcare insurance executive, Brian Thompson. They speculated that the shooter might be a professional, well-trained, and calm individual who knew what he was doing. They also discussed the possibility of the shooter being motivated by a personal grievance against the healthcare industry. The conversation then shifted to the public's reaction to the assassination, with some people expressing support for the shooter and others criticizing the healthcare industry. Jingle mentioned a report by the Network Contagion Research Institute that found six out of the top ten most engaged posts on Twitter about the shooting either expressed support for the killing or denigrated the victim. The discussion ended with a mention of a lookalike contest held in Washington Square Park, where some people celebrated the actions of the shooter.

Episode CCXLIV: The execution of Peanut & Fred & Erection Special

Squirrel and Raccoon Execution Discussed
Lamentably, we discussed the case of a squirrel named Peanut and a raccoon named Fred, who were executed by the State of New York. They criticized the government's priorities, pointing out that the state could not handle crime committed by migrants but could dispatch 12 officers to deal with a squirrel. We cannot express how angry we are that this happened. 
We covered the current political climate and the potential outcomes of the upcoming US presidential election. They presented polling data that suggested Donald Trump could win without any toss-up states, although he acknowledged that the accuracy of these numbers might change after the votes are counted. Jay also discussed the influence of legacy media versus podcasters, and how the latter have become more popular for news dissemination. He criticized the Democratic Party's focus on progressive ideologies, which he believes could lead to their loss. He also mentioned the potential defeat of progressive candidates in the upcoming elections and the shift away from the environment, sustainability, and governance agenda in the private sector.

We discussed immigration and its impact on the US. Jay argued that the US is one of the few countries where you don't need an ID to vote, and questioned why this is the case. He also mentioned that in Mexico, you need a federally issued voter ID card to vote. Jay then shifted the discussion to the economic impact of immigration, stating that most American Latinos worry about the influx of largely poor, barely educated immigrants taking their jobs or lowering their wages. He also mentioned that the Congressional Budget Office warns that the recent massive surge in immigration could impact the salaries of low-income workers, many of whom are Latino. Jay also criticized the progressive left for their focus on climate change and limiting meat consumption, arguing that these issues are not a priority for working-class Americans. He concluded by stating that he wants someone to justify the behavior of the progressive left, as he believes they do not represent all Democratic voters.

They agreed that they would be surprised if Kamala Harris won, but acknowledged the possibility of some election fraud. They also discussed the potential for riots and unrest in liberal cities if Trump won. Chris expressed his desire for Trump to win so that he could no longer be used as a boogeyman, while Jay and Angel shared their concerns about Kamala Harris's qualifications and the potential for price fixing and government interference in the economy. The group also discussed the potential for government interference in education costs and the inflation of education expenses.
